U.S. Sen. James Risch, R-Idaho, is among those following the updates about the blaze that broke out in the famous Notre Dame Cathedral on Monday morning. Risch issued the following statement:

“Vicki and I have been fortunate to attend mass at Notre Dame Cathedral with a few of our grandkids and sons over the years. The scene from Paris today is heartbreaking," Risch said. "We pray for the first responders and all others in harm’s way working to end this horrific fire. It’s difficult to see such an important piece of history in this condition.”
